Short. Simple. Sweet.  This shows how a very small wedding can be elegant, simple, and yet still stunning. Luckily, I wasn’t stuck photographing pink fluffy hearts all day and this bride picked the PERFECT colors!  The sky was so incredibly blue that this brilliant yellow just POPPED against the sky and all of the other accents in her locations.

Location: Sacred Heart Church, Prince George.

Reception: Corner Bistro, Downtown Petersburg.

Such a crazy day! But, at least we were INSIDE!!!

In the last 2 years, I have had a group of brides who were all friends…Shannon, Jessica, and Emily—who also know several other brides to be. This bride was the last bride from that group—whom over the last 2 years, I have gotten attached to—they have been at each others shoots, weddings, etc. and between them picking up prints, calling, emailing, and doing ALL the shoots that they did, I feel like I have become close friends with all of them. So, yes, I teared up and got a little weepy!

Seriously the most simple wedding…ever. A guy, a girl, a dress, a tux, family and close friends. Nothing fancy, no big show…

Location: Old Town Train Station—and a family church.

And seriously—the most gorgeous cake I have ever seen. You may differ in opinion, but I fear my photos just do not do it justice. If Katrina’s G’ma still made cakes full time, I would put her in style like Martha Stewart for brides. Not only was the cake gorgeous, I ate some. yes, I ate cake. And it was mouth watering. I wish I had tasted all of the layers of cake…but I was busy. But I had the bottom layer which was carrot cake and it was the BEST carrot cake ever. It killed me when they took it down after the cake cutting.

Ok, so in all my years, I have never actually been shaking when I bride walked down the isle. It was raining outside during the ceremony and I was FLIPPING out…It only drizzled, but hey it’s good luck for the happy couple!

There is a lot to post…I have let my fans down by not keeping this updated over the last few weeks, but I am sure you all know, I have had a LOT going on!

I think I last left off with Amanda and Eric’s shoot…so I will pick up with the next shoot:
Mankin Mansion. The biggest problem I encountered here was the wind, which incidentally blew one of my lights over and it crashed down and bent up my only white translucent umbrella…

Either way, got some great shots of this gorgeous redhead on a giant chessboard. I want to go back one day and do a really edgy shoot on it:

The weekend before, I did have a wedding! How could I forget! Seriously, the MOST fun wedding I have been to. I wanted to actually get on the dance floor and dance! Nothing like a bunch of Latino’s throwing down!

oh, and I shot these other shots of some cuties…I love having my strobes with me at weddings—adds a new fun element to photographing the average wedding!

ok, so after that, I had 2 weddings back to back…caused me to be backed up in my post processing with 3 weddings, 2 engagement shoots and a bridal session all at once! But, I am just about caught up…so anyway, here are a few from Christa and Jonathan’s June 6 wedding:

Then, I had shannon and chris’s wedding. Firstly OMG it was SOOOOOOOO hot. I cannot even tell you. Everyone was getting testy—even me! I was turning into a bossy lady! Imagine that! But, honestly, I think that shannon and everyone else will agree that every thing was more than worth it, because the shots we got at this wedding really blew ME away:

ok, and then, after shannon, I had amanda and brian! Ok, again…I had a 3 day run with being in the worst conditions ever…heat, sweat, bugs. But this one, was the worst. The may flies were so thick in the air….oh it was horrible. But we went ahead with the deed…and Amanda and Brian cranked out some great shots!

and of course, I have more stuff from today….and from other stuff…wow. Yeah, so this will do for now!

whew. it’s been one of those weeks—and it still hasn’t ended! So…

Well, it’s finally through guys! It’s always nice when I feel like I am more than just a photographer to the bride and groom. I graduated with Scooter in 97 from good ol’ PG, and our lives crossed again, when his fiance Jessica found me and hired me as their wedding photographer. Not only did I gain a friend from this client relationship, I also gained several other clients—who I have also developed somewhat of a friendship with. But, one thing—you guys gotta stop making me tear up at your weddings! Congratulations to Jessi and Scooter!

Seriously, a photographer could NOT ask for a more photogenic couple—or a couple so willing to go with my thoughts and creative craziness. This, was, by far, the MOST fun I have had at a reception—these people had me almost ready to bust a move on the dance floor—and well, if you know me…I do not dance—-seriously, no I don’t do it.
