Latest…

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

I have been extremely busy!  However, I have managed to execute and complete not one but 4 shoots from shooting to post processing in a matter of days.  And yet, I still have 3 more shoots this week.

Soooo…lets start with my second shoot this weekend…I am going to call her Dita, because for some reason, she keeps reminding me of Dita Von Tesse in a lot of her photos /shrug.

And then I shot 2 of my past clients again, this time we got to shoot at the studio….

and of course, the latest flower arrangement….which some how the florist did not get the correct color even after I went over it with her a thousand times on the phone and they told me they had herbs which they did not.

and so, on to tomorrow, when I am shooting the Loverly Connie in her bridals! So exciting!

Best shoot everr!

Tuesday I was given the opportunity to photograph for a local jewelery store, Vera’s Fine Jewelers. This particular jeweler creates custom one of a kind trinkets for their clients as well as selling the highest quality fine jewelery. The idea was simple: The bracelet, a girl, and a horse. The plan, was complicated. First, we had to put together a team–myself, models, a stylist, assistants, horses, trainers etc. But, to make things more complicated, it all had to be done in a matter of days. Tara, who I have photographed before, and I were on the phone NON stop trying to pull all of this together. Finally, at 6:00 pm on Monday night, I got the calls that would confirm everything was a go for Tuesday.

We had 3 models, Tara included, a stylist, my assistant Jake, and Dana who owns the horses. The location was a small quaint farm in Prince George County.

It was a fantastic day. The shoot started at 9:00 am when the models, stylist and my assistant arrived at the studio. I pulled a lot of strings to do this in exchange for photos and publicity for only the very best folks around town. So before I show you the photos, I have to give props to the crew:

Merritt Shelton: Hair Stylist Extraordinaire from Mango’s Salon in Richmond: 804-285-2800

My 3 models: Tara, Melissa, and Elizabeth

My assistant: Jake

Dana—my childhood friend all grown up who now raises gorgeous horses and her family and friends who were there to assist.

So, the photos eh?

The ad will be on stands March 25/26 in several locations. Richmond Magazine is fairly popular, so keep an eye out for it!

Busy Busy Busy….

Well, it’s about to start…the chaos of yet another wedding season. But, at least I have some FANTASTIC couples for this year to motivate me!

So, what have I been doing? Shooting of course! Here are shots from the latest shoots…

Connie and Dan….I am so in love with this photo for various reasons…mainly b/c we had gale force winds and were fighting off horrible weather when this was shot. Either way…I <3 it.

Anya…we are on month 10 with her shoots…And every month, they just get better and better!

and Jess and her mannnn:)

This is such a fun couple. I crack up so much photographing them. it’s nice to be around people who don’t take life seriously!

More to come….keep reading:) And thanks guys for being such great subjects!!

More Flowers

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I spent 4 hours making this last night.  I can honestly say that this was the most challenging bouquet I have done.  The gerber dasies have to each be individual wired, in addition to wiring of many other flowers and branches.  I think that in the end, it turned out to be really pretty.

In case you are wondering, this is a $100 bouquet.  You can always “up” your current arrangement to the next level by just adding $25 to your balance.  I can tell you, the extra $25 really went a LOT way with this bouquet.  There are 2.5 dozen roses, 6 gerber daisies, 2 stems of hydrangea, and 5 white unbloomed asiatic lillies.

Just as a side note, these were taking in the middle of the night in my little computer room, so they are obviously not the most flattering photos to the arrangement.  However, I will have osme more to show today!

Also, this arrangement is HEAVY. The diameter of the top is about the size of a dinner plate, probably slightly larger.
