Little Anya

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

I feel like I am related to this little cutie—luckily we are not, so boys—get away, she is reserved for my Perrin:)

I have been photographing Anya for over a year now; every month her mom and dad bring her in for photos—and I have grown rather attached to her. I had not seen her in 2 months as they traveled overseas to visit family—and when they returned WOW had she grown! It was time for their last family portrait session and I took them to one of my favorite spots to photograph—but had never photographed a family. Firstly—this family is gorgeous, so my job is always easy with them. But, the most memorable moment of the day was when Anya sat down at a tree stump for me to snap some shots of her, and she looked up at her daddy and yelled “BAGEL BITE!” I thought I was going to die! I had not really heard her speak (it’s been a little over 2 months since our last shoot) so it just sort of shocked me! She really made me miss Perrin when I was shooting, as they both have such similarities—except of course, she is much calmer and definitely has less of a trouble-making streak in her:)

S and B e-pic session…

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

It rained. Yes, I made them stand in it. Yes, I made them suffer. But at the end of the day, I think I have developed a girl crush on S because as soon as she changed her clothes, she changed personalities. Down with DRESSES! hehe.

The challenge: Taking advantage of available light

The obstacles: Rain, very low lighting, and wind.

The location: The canal walk in Ric, plus a few other places right around the area.

The jist? City couple…with a mix of romance and an homage to ol’ Paris. I.E. We got lucky with the rain!

These are just a few quick edits…a note about the last shot: EXTREMELY difficult lighting and trying to get the rain in was a new subject for me. I hope I nailed it!

Jessica and Scooter’s Wedding May 3, 2008

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Well, it’s finally through guys! It’s always nice when I feel like I am more than just a photographer to the bride and groom. I graduated with Scooter in 97 from good ol’ PG, and our lives crossed again, when his fiance Jessica found me and hired me as their wedding photographer. Not only did I gain a friend from this client relationship, I also gained several other clients—who I have also developed somewhat of a friendship with. But, one thing—you guys gotta stop making me tear up at your weddings! Congratulations to Jessi and Scooter!
